Kimya writes and the Mystery of the Melting Trees by Shafinaaz Hassim

Kimya is a little girl who wants to be a writer, so she writes about her school day until she stumbles on an adventure, a missing bike and a squabble at school. To add to the confusion, a clump of trees begins to melt and disappear! Kimya learns to be impartial in reporting different sides of the mysterious story at hand and allowing her readers to figure out the truth to help solve the mystery.
