By Sayyid Muhammad ibn ʿAlawi al-Maliki al-Hasani & Shaykh ʿAbd al-Hamid Mahmud Tuhmaz

Lady Khadijah (Allah be pleased with her) occupies a unique and honoured position in Islamic history. She was the first person to believe in the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Moreover, she was also the first to accept Islam, and his most steadfast supporter during the earliest and most difficult days of the prophetic mission.

The Prophet ﷺ said of her:

“She believed in me when people disbelieved in me; she trusted me when people belied me; she supported me when people deprived me; and Allah granted me children through her when He deprived me of children from other women.”

This book brings together two classical treatises dedicated to the life, character, as well as the virtues of Sayyidah Khadijah (رضي الله عنها). It is translated into English for contemporary readers. Together, they offer a deeply rooted and scholarly portrait of one of the most influential women in Islam.

The first treatise, Bushra fi Manaqib al-Sayyidah al-Khadijah al-Kubra (The Glad Tidings on the Merits of Lady Khadijah the Greatest), is authored by the late Meccan scholar Sayyid Muhammad ibn ʿAlawi al-Maliki al-Hasani. In addition, the second treatise, al-Sayyidah Khadijah Umm al-Mu’minin wa Sabbaqat al-Khalq ila al-Islam (Lady Khadijah: The Mother of the Believers and the First of Creation to Embrace Islam), is by the late Syrian scholar Shaykh ʿAbd al-Hamid Mahmud Tuhmaz.

What This Book Covers:

  •  Lady Khadijah’s marriage to the Prophet ﷺ and the foundations of the Prophetic household
  •  Her role in affirming and supporting the Prophet ﷺ at the onset of revelation
  •  Her unwavering perseverance through hardship, boycott, and loss
  •  Her lasting legacy as Umm al-Mu’minin (Mother of the Believers)
  •  Reflections on her virtues, character, and spiritual rank

Lady Khadijah’s life stands as a timeless example of faith, loyalty, courage, generosity, and devotion to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. As a result, this book is an invaluable resource for readers seeking a deeper understanding of her role in Islamic history and her enduring relevance for Muslim men and women today.

Ideal for students of Islamic studies, educators, researchers, and general readers interested in the lives of the noble women of Islam.
