In this lesson, we will discuss the role of the Quran and Sunnah in Fiqh, and how different madhhabs approach these two sources of Fiqh. We will also look at the different definitions of Sunnah and how scholars of Fiqh categorize and analyze Hadiths.

25 Nov.


In this lesson, we will look at the role of local culture in shaping Fiqh, and the importance given to this principle in the Hanafi madhhab. We will also look at how this principle can help solve contemporary problems.

4 Nov.

History of Usul al-Fiqh

In this lesson, we will briefly summarize the history of Fiqh and the formulation of the madhhabs, as well as analyze later controversies that arose in this field.

18 Nov.

Ijma & Qiyas

In this lesson, we will look at the consensus of the scholars and deductive reasoning as sources of Islamic Law, as well as the controversies surrounding these principles of Islamic law.

2 Dec.

Public Interest

In this lesson, we will look at how different madhhabs handle the topic of public interest through different principles of Fiqh, and how these principles can help us solve contemporary problems.

Each lesson will be 45-60 minutes long, followed by time for Q&A
